Whoa! The Cranky One and I love giving the wave to New Range Rovers - the expression (or lack of expression) always gives us a great laugh. She reckons they are not even aware of any association between our beloved Defender and their Rangie's.

Can't say too many Defenders (including 130s) don't wave. Damn, it is disappointing when a wave is not returned though.

    Cool

If they don't wave, I always think either the Landy isn't theirs, or they don't deserve a Landy....

The point system sucks, if you own a land rover you are obliged to wave, if you dont you deserve to be driving a lada

When driving the Series III around recently I'm getting heaps of waves, I think I'd score 99% from Defender drivers which is notable because it would be more like 20% return waves when I'm in the Disco. Maybe there are too may Discos around Windsor? (most of which seem to be driven by soccer mums). Can I have an exemption for Freelanders though? I just can't quite think of them as Land Rovers... sorry.

Well I scored 3 return waves when I was out & about in the Disco between Kalgoorlie & Kambalda this morning. One was from a 110 pulling a rather large caravan, another from one of the engineers from work in his 110 (which I only found out he owned yesterday when I parked next to him in the main street).

The third wave probably shouldn't count - it was the war office out driving my Prado (work car) while I was enjoying the joys of Landrovering.
    Cheers .........

What happens when your arm gets sore? On the coast down here there are heaps of LRs...I wave...but being city folks not many bother to return the favour. Shame on us.

I reckon this wave crap is excactly that, crap, and a myth.

In all the years of owning this LandRover i've had more waves from Toyota and Nissan drivers than Land Rover owners.

I get one wave from a guy in a Disco 1 on Illawarra Rd whenever we pass one another and that's it.

I've even had fellow Landrover club members ignore me.

There are alot of Landy owners in the Sutherland and Illawarra shires and i go past them every day and still nothing, even if you pull up next to them they look straight ahead and ignore you, so as far as i'm concerned it's *ullsh1t.

    Baz.
    Cheers Baz.

    The wave

The scoring system is a load of old cobblers and would generally put people off waving. Me? When out of the built-up areas I wave to any bastard, and often as not, get a return wave...someone has to make the first move.

I don't wave in towns or cities because I rarely get anything back other than a strange look.
