A D2 (champagne I think) waved at me in SW Brissy over the weekend, anyone here?
Otherwise I'm with Baz, I get more waves from other makes than LR stock.
The scoring system is a load of old cobblers and would generally put people off waving. Me? When out of the built-up areas I wave to any bastard, and often as not, get a return wave...someone has to make the first move.
I don't wave in towns or cities because I rarely get anything back other than a strange look.
We must be waving at the same people
The best thing about driving in the bush is even the farmers wave at you

There are a number of "Waves" that I am aware of -
1) The Country Wave - anyone driving in a rural area waves to anyone else. I think this is a carryover from the days when if you met someone on the road in a rural area you would stop and talk - we've reduced that to a wave, normally a finger raised from the wheel.
2) The Heavy Vehicle Wave - I've never driven one, but I've been confused when one appears to be waving at me becuase I'm just in front of/ behind another heavy vehicle.
3) The Motorcycle Wave - this is like the Landy wave in that while in theory it applies to all motorcycles in practice Harley riders don't wave to sportsbike riders and vise versa, kinda like Rangies and Defenders. Almost all motorcyclists wave to someone though, which is more than can be said for some Landy drivers.
4) The Landy Wave - the topic of the discussion.
The wave is a symbol of the affection many of us have for the marque - we are saying "Hi, you and I have something in common - a love of Landies." Many drive them without that passion, so they don't wave.
I can still remember my first waves - the first few were from another Stage 1 in the local area so I assumed it was just recognition. I waved back. Then other Landy drivers were waving and I finally cottoned on that it was a responsibility of Landy ownership to be friendly to fellow-travellors. As a former motorcyclist I like it. LONG LIVE THE WAVE!

I always wave to Series or Fenders and mostly get a response.
Got some weird looks yesterday in response to my articulations, then it dawned on me ... I was out with herself and driving her Pathfinder .....![]()
Cheers Baz.

It's usually a nod of course, though some ulysses/tourers give a full hand off the bar wave.
HD riders just don't wave, nod, indicate, mirror check, shoulder check, it ain't cool unless you're lookin straight ahead
Saw a fella on the SE FWY on the weekend on a jap lookalike HD, he rode up beside us grinning like an idiot and giving the thumbs up.
Our old Disco is nothing flash for someone to get excited about so I can only guess he was high on oxygen, at one with the bike & road and at peace with the world. SWMBO & I were in stitches.
Hey NM, what was your steed/s?
Oh well, you don't have to like the wave.
I only posted the points system as a bit of fun. I get waves everywhere I go in Gromit; but series vehicles and Defenders are the most reliable wavers.
Around ANZAC Day with the roof and door tops off, I get people in all sorts of 'normal' cars starting conversations at the traffic lights.
My best wave: driving a Series IIA wagon from Darwin to Melbourne and coming across a Series I in the middle of the Stuart Hwy towing a trailer. We were both flashing our headlights and all the passengers in both cars were waving madly. I guess they knew how we were feeling after 3 days in a very slow Land Rover on NT highways...
