    Hi Tim,

I wonder if Derek will have the gaul now to go to your web site and pinch some of your info to enable him to correct his own mis-information

    Cheers Aston

Hi Ashton, You pretty well hit it in one and although I’m not that worried about him plagiarising my site the problem is that few people, as DiscoStew and a number of others have pointed out, check the credibility of web site info.

Derek is a Parrot and I don’t mean that in a derivative manor, he simply reads what ever is on the side of the box that a give device is packed in and then posts it, word for word on the net as if he had researched info himself.

As posted already, in most cases this is just a means for him to try to make out he is knowledgeable in a subject he obviously hasn't got a clew about but in a number of postings and this one is not the first, he has put people at risk.

The biggest single problem with Derek is that even when it’s brought to his attention, he prefers to keep peddling his view to try to get more sales even when knowing this is a risk to others, so it makes no difference how I speak of him because he will persist with his dollars first ideology.

My disappointment is with the moderators on Exploroz and I might point out, this is the second time I have been given a wrap over the knuckles by them. I locked horns with another creep who thinks it’s OK to supply misinformation to make a buck and again some of it was down right dangerous but on that occasion, the other person was sling defamatory statements about anybody who challenged his post. Didn’t matter, Exploroz still backed him.

It seems to be the policy of Exploroz to chase the buck and to hell with the cost to the credibility of the site.

All I can say is THANK GOD THIS SITE IS NOT LIKE THAT.

    Cheers,

Maybe we should buy a camper, wire it up this way, burn it to the ground and then sue ExplorOz and whats his name to prove a point. See how they react then.
Nothing wrong with being wrong you just need the ability to admit when you are. I always look for better ways.

Start off by stating I am a bit biased for your side of this sport Drivesafe.

Im only commenting on the delivery of info here ,, not the detail being discussed.

This post you have almost nailed the poor sole. Just a couple of times you have slipped dangerously close to playing with his slinging match, and this is where you will have lost a few points.

Rise above it, you have got him cornered with facts, don't sour the kill with even acknowledging him. Just slay his theories. He is a salesman if you try and take him on in the game of bull**** he will put up a good fight, so stay out of that arena. List your facts, and show mercy to your weaker opponant. Thats how all the good Gladiators became popular.

Your good advice will be getting lost for many because each time you smash the man(as much as he needs it)some people feel sorry, he is clearly punching above is weight. Just smash his details.

Not wrong, I’ll be giving the whole thing a miss soon but I stupidly wanted to give him a serve but EVERYBODY has made it clear this was anything but a smart move.

    Cheers and thanks.

However you worded it, you did the right thing, drivesafe.

You just may have saved the lives of those who ride in my Disco.
What I read from your words, was, never shortcut.. and more to the point, be very wary of acquiring electrical gear.

I tinker with electrical things (being a former electronics techo), but a wakeup call never goes astray.

    Thanks

    Hi Drivesafe,

Tim the one saving feature out of this discussion with Derek is that he is in West and he is a bit hard to get to for us on the east coast. This hopefully will save someone getting hurt.

I wonder if there is some way in which it can be found out if any installations made as per his guidence have failed and caused damage or worse just for the record. (for safety sake I hope that no one has)

I wonder if the moderators of E Oz are now having second thoughts about the misinformation that he is peddling

PS: on Dk's web sit he sells a TV Tuner card for your Notebook or Laptop C8000T PCMCIA for $99.95 the same can be purchased here in Sydney for $80.00

    Cheers ASTON
