Im yet to have a problem with my aproach angle, I normally get hung up on Diffs or drag the towbar, even with the hitch removed and sometimes I even drag the tank but never has the bull bar impeded me in the slightest.
I dont go places where I need to drive straight up a 10' ledge and if I drop it into a hole, I just run the winch cable out and pull it the rest of the way but a bar is for protection before anything else in my opinion and the opinion of or law makers so maybe an adjustment of driving style may save you some money.
Im not saying your doing something you shouldnt and Im not saying you shouldnt mount a bit of pipe to the front of your Disco for what ever reason you want to do it for e.g. to look tougher or make you think you will get further because of it, thats up to you I just dont think you will find it much of an advantage thats all.
If you were doing comp like the outback chellange etc I would say go for it but for a weekend warior I would say keep it legal before anything else.
