Never been a bridge, just a creek crossing - and the responsible authority is National Parks.

Dennis, I think the locally made bridge is a master piece!

My "what's the problem" comment was directed at Vic Roads telling the locals not to use it.

The bridge on the bypass road around Tamworth (Nemingha-Farrer High-Calala) has been closed to heavy traffic for years thus forcing all semi-trailers and B-doubles to take the road through Tamworth, longer and slower, and a nuisance to the citizenry.

Anyway, it's a blardy solid lookin bridge if you ask me - I'd like to see vicroads do better!
I think you mean the SES, the Commonwealth Employment Service is no longer and Steve Bracks is Premier now.....

Vic-Roads will most likely just pour the black top over the logs...

Was just wondering how many bridges are in existence, and in use, that were constructed by our great-grand-daddies or even convicts. Pretty damned sure they never had an army of degree toting idiots pondering on the problem for years before construction commenced.

If you want to see bridges go to PNG, there are a couple in Eastern Highlands that are bobby dazzlers, never been sea-sick crossing a bridge before.

I say good on them, typical government will procastinate for years before anything happens, they need the bridge now! They built one! State will probably put a toll on it now, to raise the money to replace it.

Good stuff. I haven't been to Licola for years now, since 2000 or so.

It's pretty sh..ty for Vic roads to say that but worse that they didn't get in there quicker to do something to help. But I guess they've gotta cover themselves in this day and age of legal rot- not that it should slow there response to helping in these situations.
