    What a load of dribble!

It's simple. A Land Rover person is anyone who will stop and assist another Land Rover owner in difficulty.

why are some people forgetting we are all on the same team here. we joined aulro to be part of that team because we love our rigs, its not a competition between landrovers, its us vs the other makes, so who cares whether its a disco a series or a freelander, its still a LANDROVER.

As said this post is turning to dribble and a silly debate.
Anyone who owns or has owned a Land Rover or for that matter anyone who likes land rovers is a landy person. Some are nice people some are not, thats the way it goes, does not make them any less a landy person.
Real people, not landy are people who help each other and converse freely.
Having to have owned a series lr is the biggest laod of tripe out.
Have I owned one ? No and would not as a primary vehicle.
Would I like one? Maybe if I could find the right resto job.
Am I a Landy person? Yes I think so, have not owned a series but driven heaps, owned RRC, Disco and Defender. More than single vehicle series owners.
Also the toff that has owned new RRs their whole life is stil a Landy person.

I bought both the D1 and the RRC because to me these vehicles are not just a 'throw away' item, they are to be used, loved, repaired and abused (in a nice way). I used to own a Ducati, and they had all sorts of electrical gremlins, but loved to ride it. The Honda CBR900, whilst a mecahnically excellent bike, lacked the 'soul' of a Ducati, and like wise I think most other 4x4 lack soul too. Being a Rover owner means understanding this difference

I wave as a marque of respect to the vehicle, if your gonna rove the land, what better then to do it in a LandRover!, oil leaks and all you have to love them. People will be bringing this subject up for many more years, why a LandRover? still a good question to ask and difficult to answer, just like them that all, cant really put a finger on it, if there were no Landys around what would we be doing now, talking Tojos? nah rather reorganise my sock drawer
