G'day P38arover :)
Nice straight vehicle that you have there Ron :) I thought I reconniased the Chassis No, it was a 2.6 ltre 6cyl vehicle, and that is a rear PTO hanging out the back:D an expensive option, and quite rare, being a"D" suffix chassis it would be about 67/68, with cable operated wipers, and the later 2a gearbox, I notice that the Left rear axle is missing, so it may have just been a broken axle that sidelined it, with a Holden motor fitted it will take 3.54 ratio early 10 spline Range Rover diff centres easily, that would give reasonable road speed, it would probably have a boosted brake system seeing that it was originally a 6cyl and would have 3"wide front brake drums & shoes, the Firewall looks pretty fair, and being a traytop it would be easy to check the chassis, headlights are just standard 7" seal beams on the 67 onward vehicles and they were Negitive earth from new, but would have originally generated, there will be a 4th gear lever, coming out of the side of the transmission tunnel or from the seat box face, that will be the PTO control lever, all the others are standard Series stuff:) the Holden motor isn't rocket science to get going, check with cal415 (I think ) he has some Series 2a stuff up in Newcastle going for free, so you might score some bits like axles,(all Series fit)
cheers
