    God, I feel awful

    I'm just back from the vet.

    Our labrador (my Father's Day present from 14 years ago) didn't come back with us.

    He's been having more and more problems with his shoulder and getting out of his bed. He's started to soil his bed because he couldn't get up. The vet had tried a couple of different scripts form his pain but to no avail.

    It was time. It's bloody hard to take a dog, who trusts you implicitly to do the right thing, and who loves riding in the car, for his last big trip.

    Crikey, I'm sobbing.

    I know how you feel and my thoughts are with you. A few years back our Labrador X had the same car ride. The vet sent out a condolence card a week later with a picture on it that could have been our dog. Nice thought, but a bit of a reminder.

    My condolences to you Ron and to Elizabeth, I know that feeling too well, as several of our oldies have passed on if it was OCD then he would have been in considerable pain, it is hard when they have been part of the family for that long.
