London to Johannesburg in a 110!

Just found this old link in my favourites. I'm sure some of you may have already seen it, but here it is again anyway. It traces the adventures of a Kiwi couple taking a 110 from London to Johannesburg in South Africa. I found it a pretty entertaining read.

Thanks for the link Sean. Nostalgic. I grew up in Malawi, one of the destinations, with grey Series III Landies the ubiquitous government vehicles.

I can remember the Malawi Army trialling Landcruisers then going back to Landrovers (which broke down more often but were easier to fix).

I can also recall a tale of an inexperienced govt person driving a SIII from Blantyre to Zomba (about 60 miles) in first gear all the way. Not good.

Interestingly the most prized vehicles used by my father's employer were its Holden utes.

    Springbok

Well the attached is the campsite in Springbok which was pretty good as far as we were concerned. Maybe that's because we live in South Africa and arn't so choosey.
