    Car yard warenty

As where all aware land rover or any british car leaks like I dont know what I have 2 luckly one off the road

My D2 is going back to the dealer for a some thing that is leaking around the sump it looks like rusty water to the colour unsure where its comming from as theres a clump of crad around the sump gasket and the pipes that are located near the front end of the sump also

as the car is under 100,000km it has standard three month car yard warrenty I dont expect them to fix it properly but just out of cureosity if the issue is picked out in that three month period and isnt fixed properly with in that period and must be returned outside that three months must the car yard then fix till its repaired

    does that make sence

Mate, it depends on the company.

Ive had good and bad runs with these warrenty companies, 1 of them that we got with the Jeep, cancelled our warrenty after we made a claim which still cost us $650 so read the fine print carefully.

But then again with the VL Bombodoor that I had, we had some problems with the trans and they just put a reco trans in with no argument and when there was only days left on the warrenty the radiator crapped it self and a new genuine one went in and we had the car back in about 2 hrs and still no charge.

    Smile Warranty

My wife and I had our toyota seca gear box crap itself the yard covered half the cost under warranty as it was a second hand warranty, we were aware of this and had the companmy of our choice fix it.
    very happy with service.

I think the yard will repair it out of good will.
After all what would it cost them to get the Karcher or Gernie out, water blast the oil away and then hand the car back to you.
After another month the oil will reappear and your warranty would have expired.
A LR dealer did that to me

Unless the fault was highlighted in the sales document, a full warranty applies - it is the law - it has the same value as a manufacturers warranty on a new car.

If you find something within the 3 months they are required to fix it.

As someone else mentioned, it depends on the wording. Each state may have different rules as well.

In my experience a 3 month warranty may not cover oil or fluid leaks. Some only cover major drive line failure.

I bought an XD Falcon (silly move I know) and it came with a standard 3 month used car warranty. I moved to Dalby (3 hours drive from the dealer) but brought the car to them for servicing on Saturday mornings.

I noticed the familiar tick tick tick when the engine was idling and it was a hydraulic lifter. They said it was not covered under the warranty but as I mentioned it on the first service they would fix it. They wanted the car for 3 days but I could not do without it.

To cut a long story short, I had Christmas holidays in 5 months time so dropped in into them for a service. They replaced all lifters, reconditioned carby, fitted new belts and hoses, new water pump etc etc. When I picked up the car I saw the bill and said I could not pay the $1200. The service manager said don't worry about it, would $100 be affordable.

Nice ending but he closed up the business a few years after.

Just check out the wording and hope the dealer wants to promote good will.
