Maxi locker? Any locker?

The time has come to at least entertain the idea of a locker for the 130....just one for now, methinks.
I've got maxi axles, is a maxi locker the only option? Are there any good S/H ones getting around? What do the go for?
$2000 odd for an ARB is out of the Q, sadly

, and I have to be honest, when the salesman asked how many spline they were and are the ARB's compatible with maxi axles....I had no idea

What are my options?
Where's best to look? (AULRO never seems to have any popping up on here

)
What $ will I need to find for a decent one?

Maxi locker are hell more expensive than ARB
Air locker should be around $1500 installed anymore and your being played.
Or you can go a perm ant fixture like a Detroit for around $1200.
Each have their pros and cons but I found airlockers to be more economical in terms of price and parts availability

We bought our defer new only 2 years ago. Earlier this year I priced maxi's front and rear and the cost was going to be over 25% of the purchase cost! That's crazy!

your question which locker can you use with maxi axles, either maxi or arb lockers will match up no worries and probably the rest as well

i have arb lockers with rear maxi axles, seems to be a good setup....well i have had no problems to date, best bit is the previous owner fitted the lockers

location and year of you your 130 maybe helpfull, there is the salisbury and rover diff, i don't know the differance between them but somebody will

if you choose arb consider getting your local landy repair not dealer fit them, most times you will get more attention to detail

Ooops.. forgot to mention we got ARB lockers with maxi axles at the back.

i run the maxi rear axles in my 130

and i also run a air locker

7 years now axle and locker has been fine

but the ARB compressor has just let go

the piston has giving up the ghost inside the compressor
totally shagged

i think all Defenders from 01 changed over to a rear rover diff
