So we need to down size a bit. Down to 1 car thats fuel efficent, cheap to buy, good to drive and i need it to be a 4wd.
One of the dudes at work is a landie nut and has this series 1 that he's about to put on the market. Very good engine etc. TDI, only wants about $6k for it. So i think i might be a landie owner next...

Think it's a 92, 250kms, 2 inch lift, he bought it about 6months ago and he had it check out by 'roverparts' and he said it was a perlier. He's selling it to make way for another project... wifie said it had to go..
    Thoughts?

so long as the body work is straight, the syncros are all good in a quiet geabox and tcase, if it passes roadworthy 6k for a TDI isnt too bad but youd want good rubber and some of the luxury options, not a pov pack. rust in the rear floor pan pillars and roof might be coming into being a problem. The overall condition of the running gear would want to be reasonable as well but a little slop and some scrapes would be expected.

    G'day Moorey

This is a Series 1 Disco we are talking about if it is 92 it could be a 3 door 200 TDI, in that case it would need to be good and rust free for 6K, as you can get a 5 door for not much more than that, with 95/6 revised dash not much more, if it is a 3 door, check for rust under the rear floor mat and around the alpine light windows check the usual mechanicals, not a lot different to a 110/Defender.

    cheers

Redbook gave the impression the TDi was only in the 5 door.....
I'm not mech minded at all. I just know know more about fender pricing than disco. Mate works for a car dealership, as does the seller...that can be a major plus, of a very major minor

I don't think so, since there's a D1 in 100I's avator and he's added the quote to his signature. Take it as an unexpected standing ovation
