Too late... I just washed it today... Ended up taking a lot longer then I expected... Land Rover decided to keep me on my toes.
Started washing the car with the engine running and when the engine became so pressurized that water started leaking out of the radiator cap I realized that my thermo fan wasn't turning on!!! Blew a 60A fuse... anyway no big deal as I could drive home without the fan.
Then after spending $35 on washing my car (it was real muddy) I went to start it and then found it wouldn't start. Found water in the dizzy which I cleaned up. Started the engine moved the car so I could clean the mess I made in the wash bay and then went to start the car again and found that all the indicator lights in the dash were glowing veeery dimly and it wouldn't crank, nothing would work.
Every now and again the dash lights would come on but the minute I would try to crank it would go out again... 2 hours later at the car wash I finally figured out that the main cable from the battery to the starter motor has a crack inside causing the intermittent power problem. After a lot of wiggling I finally got it to a position where I could crank the car and drove off... Car is gonna stay in the garage until I fix that problem AND the thermo fan problem...

Stirling,
It is British
Older Jaguars are worse, believe me
You will possibly find most of the electrical problems will be poor connection. Some times it's a good idea to clean up the ones that get filthy, then put silastic over the joint to keep moisture out.
Cheers,
Ron
