When I bought my bar I steered away from the ARB full bar is it appeared that the lower lateral bar obscured the high beam lamp. (This is not an issue with the first series D2 due to the combined headlight.) For that reason I chose a steel TJM bar. Am happy with it except for the fact that in order to fit the fog lights into the bar, they deleted the high lift jack "T" receiver.

Otherwise go the full bar, it will only take one broken headlight to regret a choice otherwise.
    I have the Disco 1 1998.
The reason why asked the question it is because it occurred to me what are the implications of a air bag activated in the middle of no where, thats all.
So we protect the vehicle for mechanical damage, but still come inoperative because the bag. That what I woulds like to know about any previous experience with the air bag activated.
I have the reply from Equipe and it is ok to use with my Disco with air bag.
    Cheers

And this kind of impact did not activated the air bag?
Bugger ! the bumper bar cost more than a good bull bar ?
I am wish you good luck with the insurance, bloody rotten luck.
With my old Fairmont I hit a large roo on the top of his hop and landed in the bonet. The car have a bar but was useless in that occasion

The kind of deceleration required to trigger an airbag will never be provided by a roo. Camel or cow maybe, but a roo doesn't have enough mass to slow the vehicle abruptly enough.

There is a Disco II here in Alice with the Sahara bar and I see dm_td5 has one as well. Both are a long way from the city .

Ok, thanks that was the issue that concern me. If we hit a cow at 100kph will be a very bad news
I lost an uncle years ago in Argentina when he hit a horse and it landed on the top of the windscreen. Was terrible
I do not think that even air bag will help in a accident like this,

I have seen the results of a Subaru Forester hitting a horse here near Alice Springs. The driver was very lucky to get away with it without serious injury. He was also lucky there was no one in the passenger seat, the roof had opened up about a metre back from the top of the windscreen on the passenger side.

The standard bar looks pretty smicko colour coded to a Disco.

As to what the 'loop' on teh Sahara bar is for....

where else could you mount the rod holders ?
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Any Bar you buy should have the proper stools, ash trays at your feet, decent VB towels on top, a good looking bar chick is a must too, not sure how you fit it all in a Disco, I suggest a mini bar perhaps?
