Damn right. When I used to frequently do Sydney-Brisbane I hated having a passenger or passengers as they always added 2-3 hours to the trip. Stopping for refreshments, toilet, "let's just have a quick look at this", and so on. My usual was fuel and wee wees at Moonbi, fuel and wee wees, soft drink and Mars bar at Jennings or Warwick, and into Brisbane in 12 hours. Melbourne was a little different, fuel, toilet, two schooners and a steak sandwich at Gurley, much the same at Tomingley except maybe a mixed grill and some make-a-mile pills, same except for bacon & eggs in lieu of the steak sanger or mixed grill, at Tocumwal or a bit further south and into Melbourne in 20 hours.

For those interested in pics of Straddie, there's a few below - not much of a photographer unfortunately

We had a great weekend - the weather was fantastic (aside from a half hour storm on Saturday night), the water was chilly to dip the toe in but beautifull once you took the plunge, the beer was cold and the snags and bacon plentiful! Bugger all fish around unfortunately, but ya can't have it all I suppose ...

Anyway, here's a couple of pics of the campsite ...

And the beach just over the dune from camp ...

The 'Pin on Sunday afternoon - just about had it all to ourselves ...

And I couldn't resist - waiting for my mate to un-bog his Wrangler as we left the beach for the last time

Nothing to do with any shortcomings of the Wrangler, totally driver error

All in all had a great weekend, can't believe it's been over 15 years since I've been there - will definitely be heading back soon
