We camped on Main Beach, down towards the southern end - about 5 minutes drive from the Pin.

I'm sure we could just about have fit all the gear in the Fender, but no - there was also a Wrangler and a Triton.

Nice choice of campsites. Main problem would be the south-easterlies but last weekend would have been perfect with the northerlies.

I've never camped down that way.

Is that old yacht still on the beach where it bumped into the island years ago? We saw it just after it beached itself.

Didn't see any old yachts on the beach ...

I didn't really notice which way the winds were blowing - while it was windy on the beach, up behind the dune at the campsite it was quite sheltered.

From what I've been told, Flinders beach has more people camping along it - Main beach is supposed to be a bit more secluded. The nearest people to us were camping a few hundred metre's away. Although I suppose in school holidays there'd be alot more campers ...

Flinders has toilets for those who like those sort of amenities.

Flinders is also handy to Point Lookout watering hole (XXXX) so the drunks can top up. Definitely not recommend for holiday times at Flinders.
