Another reason to fit CDL contol to D2.

Went for a short drive on Saturday to show the Disco to a friend. After playing with the Hill descent and traction control, I decided to show off the flex by driving diagonally up a small bank. Wow, talk about a discovery. (pun intended ) Park with the hand brake on, it would slid/roll back until all four wheels had grip. With only one wheel on a loose surface, this is enough to let drive? go out through that wheel.
My zook also has a transmission mounted hand brake but no centre diff. So 3 wheels with grip, it will hold.
Now I have found another reason to fit a CDL control.
Mind you, it was great to see the TC drive the Disco up the bank on only one front and one rear wheel with the opposite wheels practically off the ground.
I was glad to learn this about my Disco in a safe area and not some where on a steep climb or desent. It also moves front and rear diff locks up the list of must get.

Wait till you get the CDL, you'll be amazed how good the Disco will be and with it working in conjuction with the Traction control

    Is that MR's at Redcliffe?

I am waiting for my transfer case to decide if it's going to continue leaking or not.

They quoted $1,000 to fix the leak so that would be a good time to get the actuator fitted I suppose. At least the box has the internals, mongrel Rover for not putting the actuator on in the first place .

Well this just does not sound right, are you sure? Not trying to take the p!ss, but what you are saying does not make sense.

Could some of the more experienced off roaders chime in. I am always interested in what others have to say.

When I did the simpson I had a little play on the western side of big red, didn't want to go to hard as I was by myself and it was the start of my crossing

First attempt with open diffs nearly mad it

Second attempt with lockers engaged didn't get as far

I put it down to the fist run loosen the sand (as I was first there in the morning) along with four tyres trying to bury themselfs

I engaged the rear locker a few times while going up the dunes and didn't reckon I got much if any assistance

Yep I didn't have traction control so a little differant to your comparsion but was an interesting exercise
