    Red Tek R12 R134 replacements?

Anyone heard of "Red Tek" or even used there replacement refrigerants for their AC systems?
Their products are supposedly environmentally safe.

Yes have heard of it and used it, unfortunately it's not all that environmentally friendly (it still contains a % of R134a)

Plus because it's a blend of three gases the temperature glide is quite horific (about 17 Deg K)

If you are looking for a good alternative to R134a have a look at ERG M30 - Greenfreeze Minus 30 - or if I have to quote a competitors product then HyChill Minus 30 (sometimes called HR12)

Whilst these are HC based gases (Iso-Butane and propane mixtures) and thus flammable - the amount you use (normally about 1 third of the original R134a charge) the risks are minimal to non existant.

HC's are far more efficient than R134a because of the far superior critical temp - (R134a critical temp < 90 DegC) R12 critical Temp > 130 Deg C, HC critial temp 135 Deg C. plus the heat transfer capabilities of HC's (the ability to absorb or reject heat) is about twice of that with chemical refrigerants

Remember all chemical refrigerants are toxic

HC's can be used with mineral oils PAGS, POLY's AB oils - whereas with R134a you should only use a PAG or Poly oil (both of which are hygroscopic)

If you want any more info - PM me and I will send you the details.
