Stupid things we did as kids

Reading up on some stories members here have posted regarding the stupid things we did as kids, I thought we could share some of the silliness here.

    Mine are:

    - My brother and I had an air rifle each, and standing approximately 100meters apart, we proceded in shooting at each other above our heads, close enough to hear the pellet fly past. If we didnt hear the pellet, we signalled each other to lower the rifles closer to our heads.

    - Trying to to a fast reverse into a drive out routine (as seen on movies) where it went wrong and I reversed into a driveway at highish speeds, almost slaming into the parked cars. Had my brother and another friend in the car unrestrained.

Theres more, but its just oo embarrasing

Silliest - When young, lead by an older neighbour (of course), we would make up fluid mixtures and throw into the drains. Would blow the concrete lids off usually cracking them. We stopped when we we total disintegrated one.

As I am the village ewok at the moment I may as well divulge some more of not so bright ideas, The chart topper was first attempt at riding a horse, I had no formal lessons and thought it cant be that hard, I had an old 3/4 arab welsh mountain mare and a saddle that come with her so one I saddled her up, put on foot in the stirrup and hauled myself up and slipped straight of the other side, I didnt do the girth up tight enuff did I.
Thought we could doctor up our report cards by turning Es into Bs and Ds into Bs, didnt work got flogged for that by dad and caned by the headmaster.
One good involving a dinghy and what happens when three men piddle over the side at the same time, I miss that fishing rod!

I'm still a kid now. Only difference is now they pay me to blow stuff up. Oh and its safer.

We had a padock basher at my best mates farm, sigma I think. This thing took a lot. It had been air born, side ways, rolled, crashed and on fire. Had a peice of rail line as a bumper. Its end to life came after its last air born event when the gear stick had been replaced by a screw driver (first and second only) then the gear box fell apart. The engine still ran so some one came up with the idea to shoot it while running.

    Dumb thing to do!!!!

So out came the gun, 6.5 I think, decided to shoot from the creek and bang....... nothing happened.

    Missed....

Bang......... bang......... BOOM...........Finaly the engine stoped. Went and had a look and one round entred a cylinder and caused a con rod to bend a exit the side of the block. Scared the ....... out of us. There are other things, but that would be near the top of stupid things. Farms are dangerous places, and with idiots like us running around back then I'm buggered why I here now.

My 2 younger brothers and i had bows and an air rifle, one day one of them shot an arrow at me so i shot him in the leg . My youngest bro was running down hill and the other 1 shot an arrow up in the air, when younger bro came back up we noticed he had an arrow protruding from his head , it just grazed his skull and stuck in some loose skin- so i reached over and pulled it out, he didnt even feel it !

silly and funny .... as kids me and a few mates were out in the bush playing war with wooden guns . Anyways we cornered this kid up against a fence and he wanted the game to stop because he was busting for a leak . so we let him . we all turn around so he can leak and next thing we hear a bang and a scream and we spun around and he was on the deck with his hands grabbing at his "johnson" . he had taken a leak right on an electric fence I tell ya we laughed for weeks on that one

Was lookin around the local dump when i was living at Blackall as a 14 yr old and we found a box of old shotgun shell's unfired. The dump had big pits that they used to burn the rubbish in,so me and my mate decided to chuck em in the fire ,the noise was unreal we **** our pants ,we waited about 10 mins for the last of them to go off then we walked over to have a look and just as we got to the edge of the pit one went off and hit me in the chin, there was blood everywere i still got a good scare

1st crazy thing....5yo, billy cart down the hills at Ferny Creek

    Then the move to mildura...

My brother, I and 4 mates used to wear our Motorbike leathers and nylons and put on helmets and then go into the bush on our block and we had trenches dug and humpies ect.. then we would proceed to shoot each other with air rifles....
It got out of hand when one mate snuck his old mans 22 air riffle out..... a .177 was bad enough to cop one.......
Things you do when your bored...

We had a buggy and we used to suit up and drive it full noise with 2 guys standing on the front or back mad max style.... but the best part was the Cactus growing on the side of our trotting track.... goggles on and full noise thru them... most stood about 6-8 foot tall and the buggy would just destroy it..... and us...

Then came the summer months... rope swings into the Murray... and climbing up palm tree's to make a perch and shoot passing cars.....

Then when the river was low.... Tennis nets in the river... the fun part was pulling them out and finding a Tiger snake in it....

Taking an air rifle on a scout camp.... Bad boo boo.... that got me into lots of trouble...

Taking the old mans near new Targa Floria out for a Fang.... Well i was allowed to drive the 1800 Ute, so the next progression was the P76....

Riding my YZ into town to get some beer......

God help the World if my kids turn out like i was.......

All of this happened b4 i was 15yo...

Then we moved to Barwon heads... and the fun started there
Rolling down the sand dunes sitting in the center of a Tractors inner tube from the rear wheel.....

Lauching our BMX's of the piers into the Barwon river and then duck diving to find them...
We then built ramps so you could do back flips...

Then during one Easter.... Floods and King Tide.....
We started at the breakwater wall at the bluff and ran down the wall and we jumped into the river and caught surf waves up the river.... Now that was fun....

Fondest memory was my brother and i snorkling.... until we sighted a shark.... my brother did a JC and the scream from the snorkle was loud.... i just swam like all billy-o and got to sore as fast as i could....

And then i got my licence....... OMG... we dont need to go there
