Sorry but this one got to me.
I am dyslexic. Yes I am smart but I have very poor writing skills. Took till year 12 to understand paragraphs. This meant I had to work twice as hard as others to get the grades. When I finished school my school records and IQ tests were used to start teaching how to recognize learning disabilities in the ACT. I was smarter than most kids and a lot of adults and very quick to teach myself but would suffer when it came to grades due to spelling and punctuation. I could even tutor others on the subjects I was failing. All my records said the same thing. "He understands the work is very articulate but doesn't apply himself in assessments. If he tried harder he would be the top student."
