    INS For Club persons

If you are in a recognised 4WD club, TCIS will cover you. The savings warrant the cost of being a member, if nothing else. Our inaugral Pres found on returning from the cape that he was not covered by AAMI, whilst on the main road to the Cape!!

Is it worth trying Shannons as a modified vehicle? I've got a '67 falcon ute and it was insured for $8K no questions asked for about $300 per year. Mind you I do get a reduced premium for limited Kilometres travelled. And in the event of a write off I get to keep the wreck, but I could use it as a daily driver for another couple of hundred dollars a year.
    Regards,

    Thanks Fen,

My next insurance policy, on the car that will replace the Falcon, will be examined with a magnifying glass.

This 'experience' has really p1ssed me off...

More than thirty years with the NRMA means nought...

I'm getting very close to ringing a few mates in the 'current affairs' type of tv programs....

...another assessor, a bloke I know, who has nothing to do with my issue, said to me your policy is market price - this could be anywhere from $4000 to $9000...

he said they always settle on the lowest, obviously...

after I ring ray martin etal, i might just drive it thru their head office foyer, uncaring d1psh1t pr1cks...

Not good Quiggers, not good at all.

I know Aquarangie got a nasty shock one time, and I've had 2 friends "shafted" by a broad interpretation of "inclusions" and "exclusions" too

Our 80 series got written off after a drongo in a holden 1 tonner drove out of a side street in front of it so I was wrapped to have full comp insurance.

We recieved what we paid for it and bought the Disco, probably couldnt have got another 80 series in as good condition for that money but then again I found 1 in the first place so it wouldnt have been impossible.

We had problems getting a reasonable agreed value from the usuall insurers this year so we went through a broker (information was found on here) and Im quite happy with the results and I now know that im insured anywhere in OZ not just on main roads.

I also considered 3rd party fire and theft and in the event of a write off I would just buy one from the auctions and swap all my gear over but Im happy for now how it worked out.

Good luck with it, it is a damn frustrating exercise trying to get what you need but well worth it if the worst happens.

Insurance comp. we all love them ..made a claim not so long back ..made the mistake of saying I hit a couple of roos... yep that will be 2 claims... had big words .. changed companies.. they are now going to fix FIRST roo damage...they both did the same damage...they lost me.. and was with them a long time and 2 cars ..with racv now and a better deal ..it pays to look around each renewal..so now I will think before making ..hit a couple..

Ring the smash repairers and see who they insure their pride and joy through. Works for me in all the different states and Territories that I have lived.

It only counts when you make that claim one day and you need to be sure that they will do the right thing by you.

The smash guys know who is good and who to stay clear of as they deal with them every day.

When GIO did that to us the wife rang them up and asked why we should keep our policies with them. Result was they lowered the premium again.

Yeah, we have everything with GIO and when I have needed them they have been really good. But I am going to ask them to show reason why I shouldn't take it all elsewhere.
Thanks for the feed back guys.
    Steve.
And I am in a club so I will talk to TCIS as well.
