    Hi all
We have had nearly 5 inches in the last week, ie 125mm at the farm, Inverell. 1st rain to fall in 7 weeks so its a blessing. Althought I had started to plant Sorghum just after it started and it will have to be resown, too much rain on it. But its wonderfull for the pasture, and cattle prices I hope that the rain is widespread.
    Cheers all

    Hi there

We are simular in the Flinders Rangers - about 5" in the past week.

We are only 40 km out of Port Augusta - and we are greatful we missed the storm they had last night- 55mm in 20 minutes (flooded).

But they are forcasting more next week - looking good but the poor farmers around our area still havent been able to get into the paddocks (thats farming)

All our hays in the shed and dry.......

    All the best

I'm glad its raining where its needed,
we are just about rained out here, well not really missed the afternoon thunderstorm yesterday and had a shower this pm, not much relief after 2 days of + 30 temps with probably 98% humidity, just standing on the veranda watching the grass grow makes you sweat.
the ground around here has reached saturation point, an hour shower ( well a bit more than a shower it pelted down) on friday afternoon created enough runoff to turn the lismore golf driving range into a lake.

the water is even oozing from the cracks in the road,

no frogs singing tonight so I guess it may be dry for some.

The grass is starting to crackle when you walk on it an the cracks are starting to grow Damned hot today here... like you say, you sweat watching the grass grow...except its not growing here.

Let the girls (cows) out of the paddock into the front yard today...they had a ball in the long grass out front. Their paddock is slowly turning into a dust bowl

the only dust i get here is from sweeping the front verands ( yes I sweep it)

my girls don;t know which grass to eat, its all so long and green and they are getting sloppy because of it,
its yucky and the dogs like it more to roll in.
I'll point the singing frogs your way.

thats good its doesn't take much, now you want a few days of good soaking rain, to reach the water table.

still cloudy up here, so i guess there is more to come

I take it that everyone including JD is rain affected hence the quiet,
have been watching the grass grow again, its up 4" from the weekend.( how do I know, because i mowed on saturday, ride on around the shed and mower around the pool.) the little dog is disappearing in the grass!!
its been bucketing down here for about 18 hrs.

maybe a good time to get the slasher down into the house paddock and do the weeds, it'll regrow before I know it!!!
