My deepest condolences, I know that you realy never get over the loss of a parent, they would want you to get on with your life. You just go through periods sometimes where you think about all the times you had with them, they never leave you.

mick, i know how you feel, in 2001, 5 months to the day after my mother died, i was at work when i got a call from my cousin that my father had died. he lived 2 doors down from my cousin on the central coast, she hadn't heard from him for a few days and went looking for him. the house was all locked up but the car was in the garage, she used her key and found him where he'd collapsed 2 nights before as he was going to bed.
while i'm not one to mourn for long, nor do i feel that death is a tradgedy all of the time (for some people it's a timely relief from long term illness, as with my mother), the sudden shock of the news really put me on my ass, the realisation that i would never see him again, even though we'd never been "best" mates.
my thoughts go out to you and i hope you can get through it allright. your mates will help you the most through this, your family will need you too.
