WHICH longe range tank for D2

Been getting some prices for a long range tank for my V8 D2.

The TJM species LRA at around 200l with small aux tank is over $3000 fitted. And that seems a huge tank. Anyone got any images of that fitted to their D2

ARB Species The Long Ranger with small aux tank is 166L and is around $2200 fitted.

I don't want some Giant fuel udder dangling out the ass end of my truck. But 200L sounds pretty good. I also have LPG which I would use as an additional supply.

Just need some images and opinions to help.

Thinking about doing the Simmo next year. Not keen on Jerry cans inside the truck.

    Thanks

    Ian.

I was thinking about trying and see if you could mount 4 X 20L jerries under the sills, that is an extra 80lts. When not touring you take them out and do not have the extra weight for everyday such as a bigger tank. I like the idea of auxillary sill tanks as another option. I think that long range tanks are overpriced for the little additional ltrs over standard.
Have you tried locating a tank from a wreck?

At least I have a sense of humour.

    Obviously you have nothing.

160l is a bit less than twice the range, or 4 jerry cans. Not really considering scratch building any mounts.

Wrecked D2 v8's with long range tanks are pretty rare. As far as fuel tanks go too I'd prefer a brand new one.

Just need some feedback as per approach and departure angles. 2 Grand is a lot. 3 Grand is crazy!

Go the long ranger from ARB...

    They mount better...

2 guys running the LRA tanks broke the chassis and lost the outer tank and sufferred chassis damage on the Hay river trip...

They are here... Slunnie and Walker

    I have!
and decided to carry 4 jerry cans inside the car.
    yes they were firmly secured,,,
in a crate actually,, bolted through the floor,, behind a cargo barrier. dont forget, average desert speed is very slow.
and afterwoods you throw the crate away
and get your car back. ended up needing only 3.

You rip the back seats out Pedro?

I'm already pushed for room. Don't want them on the roof either! It's illegal to carry petrol on the outside of your vehicle now anyway isn't it.

How'd you go with the stink! I mean the fuel.
