Illegal, there are quite a few illegal ones around.
One night on Wellington road Rovwille, in peak hour traffic I happen to glance at a car beside me and the bloke was watching hard core porno on his dash one. Then on Stud road there was a car that was on top of the roof of a car that was supposed to be in front of him....... may be they were doing the same and the crash was the climax![]()
I know about the legalities
just wondering what the quality would be like
Quality is normally good. I looked at a budget $500 unit the other day and the clarity was really impressive, close to that of a $4000 Alpine system.
Car manufacturers set them up so they can only be used while parked. What is the use of that. As a passenger I would like to be able to watch a dvd on a long trip and how does it differ from reversing cameras, pdas, gps etc etc.

The obvious question is whether the AU has a double din hole in the dash to fit this double din sized unit. Also ensure it has a facility to change brightness to dull it down at night.
I assume that the radio controls are also displayed on the screen so as long as you don't watch movies while you drive I do not see an issue. It is only movies that are illegal to be displayed, radio controls, music controls, GPS, rear parking etc can all be legally displayed. There is no legal requirement to have the screen attached to the handbrake, just don't watch a movie.
