Vic RR Classic for Sale - Anyone know Deacon Motors

Have been thinking about this RR Classic from a dealer in Victoria called Deacon Automotive. Anyone here dealt with them? Any comments (or PM if not for public consumption).

Vehicle is a 1990 Vogue 3.9. I am a little concerned that the ad copy says they converted it to a manual. Is this something I should stay away from?

    Here's the link:

    Thanks

Hey McRover - thanks for the PM. Positive.

I will give them a call in the morning (assuming they are working over the Xmas/NY break) and have a chat about it.

    Thanks.

    Deacon have a good reputation.
They are a better option than Ritter IMHO. I've never dealt with them tho, someone might tell otherwise. They do a pretty good LPG conversion too.
At fist I thought Jeez - 9 grand for a "90 RR you gotta be kidding, but looking at the ad you probably are getting a better than run of the mill job.
Having had a '89 RR for 5 years you can spend a bucket on a $4500 one, so it may be a reasonable purchase. I can call by there if you are REALLY serious.

I might take you up on that. Depends how the conversation goes in the morning. I can pay you in beer if I come over and pick it up

I'd quite like a bog standard unmolested one but they very rarely come up. This one seems like it's had a lots of stuff done to to it, but it still looks pretty standard (is that a contradiction?).

260,000Km is high but I am hoping it has had some refurbishment along the way. At $9000 I'd be hoping for a reliable beast.

Rang them this morning but no reply so they must be shut down for a few days. Will try again on the 2nd.

It seems a little odd that a Land Rover specialist would call the colour Icelandic Blue when that only came out on Discovery II's.

Maybe it's been resprayed at some stage of it's life. The "Land Rover" badge on the lower tailgate is also in an odd spot.

The wheels look like 1995 "MA" spec but look quite nice with that colour. The rear interior trim (loadspace) also looks later than 1990 spec IIRC.
