If you buy a RRS Tdv8 you have to be very careful on the highway.

As you come up behind those really dirty, slow Defenders they are hard to see

Especially when the only clean spots on the RRS would be where the wipers had cleared. I'm 680 km from a bituman highway.

    680?

I'd be thinking along these lines---

    RRS all wet and dirty

On a recent trip to Fraser Island I saw a RRS roaring down the beach on the eastern side of the island, not far from the Maheno.

It was great to see it being used for such work. The RRS with its huge tyres and every electronic gizmo ever thought up PLUS all of that power AND the plush comfort must be almost the ultimate sand machine.

On the way back to the barge, saw a BMW 540 parked at Kingfisher.
They got onto the barge with all the 4wds, but they were directed to park between my D1 and a troopy, and consequently couldn't get out without dinging the door of their shiny black beast. They sat in it the whole way back to the mainland.

Seeing them drive off at River Heads (the needed ramps that the Barge crew had) was hilarious ... they held up about 5 4wds (including me ) as they took about 5 minutes to reverse off.

The crew couldn't stop laughing. I still don't know why anybody would take their car over there when they couldnt drive it off the Bituman road at Kingfisher !! And no, it wasn't a hire or wedding car .. bizare

Seriously though the RRS is a great vehicle which I'd love to have up here. The only down side is the interior space compared to a D3 (or RR). There's just not as much room in the cargo area. But a RRS TDV8 with nice muddies would be great otherwise.
