Some on the BMW thread reckon it's a dog - which would make more sense... maybe a german shepherd. Looks like shepherd fur and maybe a foot/pad in one photo.

    Anyone know source?

Could've been a little Deer like Bambi.

This one would compress a fair bit at 190km/hr.
Apparently knocked the engine off the mounts.

This one obviously didn't compress to well.

An uncle of mine decapitated a deer once in his Bronco, the head ended up in the passenger seat beside him.
Moose are bad to hit, due to their height like to land ontop of the windscreen as you take the legs out from under them.

Don't think it can't happen here folks. I was travelling through Willow Tree on the New England Highway late one night when a medium sized deer stepped in front of the Land Rover. It was that close I braced myself for the impact, we missed by millimetres.

We had already hit a huge wombat on the way up near Nowendoc, lucky we were in the Land Rover, in a car it would have ripped the front suspension out.
