    From the Written Off Vehicle Register Training Manual:-

    A statutory write-off is (a) a motor vehicle or trailer, other than a motor bike, that has been immersed in:

    Salt water above the door sill for any period; or
    Fresh water up to the dashboard or steering wheel for more than 48 hours;

    for what it is worth, I have my County insured with RACQ and they will not cover damage occurring whilst travelling off road, or on private roads other than a private road used for accessing premises such as an agricultural or pastoral property, a residence or resort, or a place of employment.

    Okay guys the cheque is in the bank finally so i can discuss the incident now.
    CGU where fine to pay out on the car, the assessor turned up and 1/2 hour later rang me and told me it was a write off. It took cgu another 2 weeks to finalise everything but the cheque has arrived and the money is in the bank.
    When i rang up and did the claim over the phone they asked what happened and as it was in a state forest only what was the nearest town. They never asked what road I was on or anything. The insurance broker TCIS where fantastic and I would not hesitate to reccomend them.

    I will post photos later

    CGU insurance are a bunch of bloody muppets.

    Had a letter from them a several months ago demanding a $3000 payment from an accident i had with a holden barina about 18 months ago, The other driver was quite clearly at fault I had to ague the case for several weeks before they realized they had screwed up. Found out that the claim had been sorted out with the other driver just a few weeks after the accident, but someone in CGU sent the claim to their recoveries unit anyway.
