The time has come...
With 120k on the clock, my Camel 110 is now starting to look a little sorry for itself so I’ve decided that the time has come for a bit of an overhaul.
I’ve had problems with the handbrake for a while, so I figured that if I’m doing that, I might as well fix the small leak between the transfer and gear boxes. Then I think, “Well, I’m that far in, I might as well fix the leak at the back of the engine.” It’s also time for a new cam belt, so I might as well queue up the jobs and do them all at once.
The thing that finally tipped the balance is that I noticed the puddle of oil was getting bigger... Quicker... And then to cap it all, I think I’ve burnt out the winch motor!!! So, that then leads onto another round of jobs... While I’ve got the winch out, I might as well get the bar & bumper off to get them re-powder coated. As I’m doing some powder coating, I might as well make up a decent sized batch and get the snorkel, roof rack mounts, swing away, etc... Done too.
Before you know it, I’m starting a major overhaul.
I’ve been putting it off for as long as possible but it has only done 60k since the last overhaul... Mind you, to be fair, she has been around the World in that time.
