Aussie ! Aussie! Aussie ! Oyi Oyi Oyi

Went for a drive to Ipswich, (sorry Blknight it was 2 o'clock in the morning and did'nt think you would have appreciated me coming through your lounge room window at that time all kitted up though must admit I look really good dressed in Kevlar, may have decided to Glock me.) (had to go rescue one of my daughters and her children, but thats another storey. )

After that aside what I really wanted to say was I was very surprised and proud on the way back to see the number of cars flying the Aussie flag and as someone said:-
Australia - The Right to Leave

After Sydney not wanting to offend other cultures by putting up Xmas lights.

After hearing that the South Australia changed its opinion and let a Muslim woman have her picture on her driver's license with her face covered.

    IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT.
Take It Or Leave It! I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.

However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the 'politically correct' crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others.
I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Australia .

However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand.

This idea of Australia being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Australians, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle.

This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.

We speak ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, Learn the language!

'In God We Trust' is our National Motto. This is not some Christian, right wing, political slogan. We adopted this motto because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented.

It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you
consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.

If the Southern Cross offends you, or you don't like 'A Fair Go', then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet.

We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from.

This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this.
But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our National Motto,Our Way of Life, Our Queen I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom,

    'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE!

what you have in the coffe mate ? Have a Valium

In Uruguay, the country where I born, we have more emigrants that here from before and after each bloody war.
We never have the problems that we have in Australia and the reason is because in Uruguay we never have a Multy Cultural "System", we never have a emigration laws, We let people come with the condition that they have to accept the country and the way of living as is!
No hostels, no welfare, no different education to accommodate other cultures.
In other words Uruguay is like this......take it or live and pay you own way to.
We never have a racial problems and every body integrated
Why other goverments do not follow systems that worked in other places
Cheers mate and do not worry to much This wog ops new Australian said so

No, it's the motto of the USA, not ours!

That's obviously been a rough cut and paste with some changes to suit Australia.

Funny l thought this Nation was founded as a penal colony and a dumping ground for the Irish question and as an anti French bastion in the South Pacific

As for Christians may l point out that it would therefore be Church of England version so you Roman Catholics, Methodists, Baptists and such like all have to convert as well as the muslims and hindus etc

    G'day Folks

Rob might have got the motto wrong BUT he got the sentiment RIGHT as far as I am concerned, if you want to live in this country you abide by the CUSTOMS & LAWS of THIS COUNTRY, not your old country, you speak the LANGUAGE of THIS Country, there are special schools to help you learn this language so there are no excuses the inhabitants of this country dress in "western attire" not in middle eastern robes, this country is fundimently and basicly "Christian" and was founded by Christians, but there is no requirement to become/convert to this faith, BUT,DO NOT FORCE your religion/beliefs. down the throats of the general population.

Very interesting - and potentially volatile thread....when the English arrived in Australia, did they adapt to the indigenous ways?

PM to say sorry to Aborigines on Feb 12

If you were to travel overseas and had the choice of living in a district full of the native peoples or a ghetto of Australians, which would you choose?
There are so many factors/issues to take into consideration. Depending on your occupation/life experiences, you may well have seen people at their very worst, and on the opposite side, people at their very best - despite their ethnicity/religion etc....I have.

Before you get all excited about the "sentiment" look at this

    Subject: Be an American
After hearing that the state of Florida changed its opinion and let a Muslim woman have her picture on her driver's license with her face covered, one American had had enough. This is an editorial written by an American citizen, published in a Tampa newspaper. Did quite a job, didn't he?
IMMIGRANTS, NOT AMERICANS, MUST ADAPT. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or his culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Americans. However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the "politically correct" crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to America.
Our population is almost entirely comprised of descendants of immigrants. However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand. This idea of America being a multi cultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity.
As Americans, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This culture has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom. We speak ENGLISH, not Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language! It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools.
If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture. If Stars and Stripes offend you, or you don't like Uncle Sam, then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet.
We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from.
This is OUR COUNTRY, our land, and our lifestyle. Our First Amendment gives every citizen the right to express his opinion and we will allow you every opportunity to do so. But, once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about our flag, our pledge, our national motto, or our way of life, I highly encourage you to take advantage of one other great American freedom, THE RIGHT TO LEAVE.

Please pass this along if you agree.
Seem familiar??? How about this one...

United Kingdom - The Right to Leave
Our Country - YOU Have the right - the right to leave ! After many cities not wanting to offend other cultures by putting up Xmas lights and after hearing that the Birmingham council changed its opinion and let a Muslim woman have her picture on her driver's license with her face covered.
This prompted this editorial written by a UK citizen. Published in a British tabloid newspaper.
    Take It Or Leave It.
I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on London, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Brits.

    "THE RIGHT TO LEAVE".
If you aren't happy here then go!! We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted. Pretty easy really, when you think about it.
I don't mean to offend but this kind of false patriotism really gets under my skin. If you truly believed in the 'sentiment' I would of hoped you could have written your beliefs down in your own words not just copied and pasted an chain email which has been poorly adapted to an Australian version from an American source.

I can't find any evidence to prove the existence of the Muslim women in the South Australian drivers licence story and it only took 2 minutes and a one or two Google searches.

We do have a problem with SOME immigrants to this country but its only a very small percentage who ruin it for the rest. Spreading these chain emails will not solve the problem - just inflame the situation until we have all immigrants offside and the sentiment in this email actually become REAL. Because when an immigrant to this country who wants to live in this country as an Australian, reads this email what are they going to think? That they are welcome and wanted to further this country? Or that we, True Australians as the email would have it, are racist fools who can't make a rational argument supported with facts.

I have many friends who are immigrants or first generation Australians and I know they are hard working, honest people who live in this country because they want a better life for themselves, their families and their fellow countrymen. Sure, their religion is different to mine, they don't eat all of the foods I do, they don't celebrate Christmas like I do (although they do put up Xmas lights), they may speak a different language at home but in the end they are good people just like 99.99% of the people here.

They would stand up for me and I feel compelled to do the same for them here because I look at the attitudes displayed in this email \ rant and the attitudes that they display and I know which attitude I'd rather see in any true Aussie.

This chain email shows the dangerous and ugly side of the Internet... use the good side of the Internet to research some of the rants claims and so called "facts" and then realise they are baseless, flawed and out right lies. And then stop it spreading. My source if anyone is interested is here.

I want to repeat that I don't mean to offend anybody who has posted here, I've met some of you and know that you are good people but on this particular issue I disagree strongly with you and feel that something needs to be said because of the damage this email \ rant WILL do if it is allowed to continue.

    I was right!

The "In God We Trust" was the dead giveaway.

    From wiki:

In God We Trust is the current official national motto of the United States and the U.S. state of Florida. In God We Trust became the official U.S. national motto after the passage of an Act of Congress in 1956. In God We Trust is also found on the current flag of Georgia, flag of Florida, and the Seal of Florida. It was first adopted by the state of Georgia for use on flags in 2001, and subsequently included on the Georgia flag of 2003. In Florida, it became the state motto during the term of Republican governor Jeb Bush, a Roman Catholic, who signed the bill making it so into law. Starting in 2007, the phrase can also be found on the license plates of Indiana, North Carolina, South Carolina and Ohio (it can be selected among offered designs).
