Well I seem to have started something here

.....At least it is getting people to think...... For the record, as Ho says....I am not racist, have'nt got a racist bone in my body, my bestest friend in all the world, a man I would, and have, trusted my life to is so black that on a dark night I have to get him to smile so I can locate him. He is a valued and much loved 'member' of my family.....he comes from and lives in another country.
I have very good friends who come from Belarus, from Croatia and Serbia (Strangely they are good mates too) I have two good mates who come from Germany and another one who is ex French Foreign Legion (not sure what he is, think his country no longer exists, have not pursued this with him as I respect his right to privacy ) also a particularly good mate who is Aboriginal who I go fishing with out west, he often stays at my home and is also a much respected and loved 'member ' of my family.
I have a Greek mate who just loves turning up at ungodly hours of the early morning knowing that he is always welcome. Thinking about it I seem to have more friends who come from other countries than I have friends who are born and bred Aussies. The one thing about all these people is that they love this country, they chose to come here because of our way of life, the afforded opportunities and the safety, they know that their children are going to prosper and be healthy. They contribute to our nation they all speak and read english although Franz will often slip back into german to get his point across. They are all fully employed, they consider accepting government hand outs to be dishonourable and diminishes them as providers for their families. They are all ex-military ( either special services or paras) from their various countries, we have all worked together in the past and I love them all, there are'nt too many things I would not do to assist them.
I have the utmost respect for people who come to this country and contribute to it, they have given us things like pizza and spagette bolanaise, and all those greeks dishes that I just love but cannot pronounce ( nor spell).
My beef is with the minority who come here and complain and insist that I change my ways and lifestyle to suit their needs, they require me to respect their way of life, but they have no respect for our ways or culture, they introduce all that is bad in their own counrty to ours, as far as I am concerned if you want to carry on as you use to in your own country, then stay there.
If you want to come here and adapt and assimilate into my country, and contribute to our culture then I will bend over backwards to assist you, and welcome the education that you can provide me.
On this site we have many valued members who contribute to the site, their views are able to be expressed and respected, I do not expected everybody to be exactly like me, (Would be a very dull and boring world), we all get along with only the occassional 'cat fight', Australia is no different.
My advice to people who want to move here is bring with you all that is good and honourable, add to my country, assist it to grow and develop,You are welcome, we will move over to make room for you BUT ! leave the ugly at home, we don't want it and do not try to make my country into a mirror image of what you have fled from.
Value our way of life, this includes Christmas, HO, HO, HO, and Christmas Carols, Easter and the Easter Bilby, bibles in the top drawer of the bedside table in Motels, Anzac Day, Long Tan Day, Rememberance Day, Australia Day, and mostly the value of giving everyone a "FAIR GO", If you find that you are not capable or wanting to respect this. DO NOT COME HERE, STAY WHERE YOU ARE. This country is not for you. Other wise "Welcome Friend what can I do to help you establish yourself in my country"
