    I cant imagine half of that is true, especially the wide track defender. I would say thats absoloute rubbish!

    Pete, you are entitled to your opinion. I was assured that these were facts (ie, had been signed off by LR management). Of course, I could have been misinformed, but I see no reason why he would have been making stuff up.

    I am 100% certain about the TDV6 upsize (I have seen reference to it in LR literature) and I find the TDV8 upsize reasonable as well.

    Big Jon, read your first post, big question is will we get the TDV6 and Auto option in the 2012 Defender?

    From what I have heard the TDV8 is not going into Disco 3, hence the upgrade to the TDV6 engine. A Disco 3 with TDV8 would be too close to full size Rangie and Rangie Sport as far as the potential market.

    I don't know what will be used to power the "wide body" Defender, but TDV6 and V8 would be nice . Even I would be tempted by one.

    I must admit if a tdv8 90 came to Austalia I would buy one, without hesitation, but lets be honest, it isnt going to happen. The transit engine is breaking cv's during engine breaking already. If it (tdv8) was considered there wouldnt be a manual option anymore, it would only be an auto too.

    New cv's and front shafts are in process, to try and solve the cv issue at the moment.

    Thinking about it logically, they sell 25000 a year, is the money really there? Also I wouldnt want a wide body one... Yep bigger people may be more comfortable, but It would be more vulnerable and less capable off road.
