is the manual box from a 130 the same as a 110, wouldnt it be cheaper and easier to take it back to original than stuff around with that auto anymore?

Ed, sorry to hear about your luck (or lack of it), it makes my minor injector pump issue pale in comparison, i feel for you mate.

Disco Pom is towing it home on Thursday. We have a 15*6 trailer so it should only overhang by about 2 foot. That is as long as the measurments are for the load area and not include the draw bar and wheels of the trailer. 4.6HSE should manage but might drink a bit.

Ace, Once it's back home it will be going to a mechanic I know for a full inspection of the box. After that we will be crunching numbers about a rebuild or different box.

And yes I have committed to sell broken or fixed.

Once it has been sold I will be looking into what I can do for a replacement sometime.

I'm even set now. Work has given the ok to more time off. Had to fill in the Land Rover Leave form.

Tusker great photo's but it doesn't show the hole the truck was trying to fall into.
Blknight Your sand ladder trick worked but we used bread crates to make them.

Spoke with Steve today about your trip, looks like it was a battle out there

I told him that hes visit to Tassie will also mean some very hard tracks, in fact, the tracks I go to I have to use 1st gear low range in order to crawl over the rocks

Now, George130, I was offered an auto box before I bought the lt95. The guy is from Launceston I think and wanted $400 for it, apparently in good working order. I dont know about the box, and I dont know the guy, so I cant confirm if its actually in good nick. Just a thought anyways.

Best of luck getting it fixed, I know i was for weeks waiting for mine to be back up and running.

    Cheers,

Been on the phone a lot this week talking with various parties. Things are looking a lot better. Since reverse still engages strait away they beleive it is one of 2 possible causes.
1 Front clutch pack is fried (Easy fix once the box is out)
2 Crap glogging the lines or jamming a valve (Bugger of a jub to clean out but a lot less parts).

As long as when we drop the pan it is fairly clean then I could but sorted for a lot less than first thought. I have been told that chances are I can't have hurt most of the heavy duty internals. If this is correct then the ZF stays but will be fitted with better cooling and more gagues. The beast will look like a cockpit with so many guages and screens!

My county could tow it very easily, once I had the rear suspension fixed up. It's scary towing with it at the moment. It would be slow on the hills though.

    urmmm IVe seen his rig....

anyone whose stripping the ends off of a set of maxis is going to toast any auto landrover has offered...

I think he needs something a mite stronger like an allison tx100 out of an M113, the ZF out of a busmaster or something from a tank.
