    Defender at Brisbane Motor Show

    Hi All,

Managed to get some pics of the new Fender at the Brisbane International Motor Show yesterday. While I was extremely exited to see one of the new fenders up and close and in the flesh all i can say is that i was a little disappointed at the build quality when i had a good look up close there were just lots of little things like loose fasteners, the rear door handle was just about to fall off, the sound proofing and matting looked like it was made and installed by a monkey. As much of a Defender and Land Rover fan as i am, I think land rover have done a poor job at trying to modernize the Fender. The one thing that really bugged me was the absolute lack of interest from the salesperson at the display, every other company's salesperson would come up and have a good chat about the vehicle you were looking at, but at the Land Rover stand not so I did not see the dealer speak to one person the whole time i was there, no wonder Land Rover has such a bad rep for customer service. I guess i didn't look like i had enough money to buy a Range Rover Vogue, so he just wasn't interested

Sorry for being so negative, anyway here are some pics

    Cheers
    Paul

Nice pic's Paul - thanks mate. I think sometimes the bloke at the motor show is the one who pulled the short straw and got lumbered with the weekend work

It's a shame - imagine their sales, or at least promotional potential, with an enthusiast at the stand.....

So has anyone else noticed the UK spec number-plate space? No Aussie rivet-on tab for the sticky-outy bit. I wonder why?

And why did they choose to display a white one? Surely black or silver would have been more "bling" for the show (sorry Scallops).

Looks like the air cleaner is a car-type paper cartridge element

What a great advertisement!!!, you'll get so used to working on your broken down Land Rover, that, for your convenience, we've encorporated your very own permanent stubbie/cup of tea holder, within the engine bay.........why else would you need this feature??.

"Land Rover, at the cutting edge of vehicle design!!".

    It's kinda embarassing

it's a real shame ,from such a Great Marque , I have always liked land Rovers & back home we have lots of series L/R .
Personally I would have loved to put a deposit down on a New Defender but from what I hear it's not going to happen.

and may be our Friend Loz the Landrover Engineer is reading this thread now.

I don't really care about Terraine response ( witrh regards to Enginner thread ) in a new 4x4 Vehicle ,yeah sure all new vehilces are fitted with Electronics , what I care about is Build Quality / realiability / capability and as you said paul most importantly "customer service" , surely Landrover would have realised that by now.Not.
