I hope that ORC1 is reading this thread,
I can see why Toyota is selling the troopy, 300 to 1 to the Defender or more.
As far I can see, for us the people that like Land Rover we are better of doing mods in the old vehicles.
Couple of days ago I went to do some tyre kicking at the Jeep dealer and I can said that the 4 door diesel Rubicon is very attractive package for the money and the quality is far better than the Defender.
Come on ORC1 bring a D90 at the same price as the Jeep and with the same standard specs. That will show that Land Rover means business.
I just wonder if Land Rover will let us in the next show exhibit some of the old models of LR improved by the members of AURLO to show how a vehicle has to be made
Can AURLO do a bulk import of Santanas. If they are cheap we improve them
    Just my humble suggestions

From what I hear the cart springs in the Santanas are better sorted than any other 4wd on the market and equal to the ride quality of LR Defenders !

    I;ve never driven one but...

and how do THEY get the turning circle so much smaller !

F*** it someone email Santana and tell them of this great market awaiting them in Australia - they might not share LR's apathy and could come in here and sell heasp !!!!
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

You will sell bugger all Santana's in AU .. they will get a bad reputation from day 1 just because they look like a Land Rover!

I jumped in the Defender at the show and shut the door to see what the comments about space in the seat was all about. Damn is it tight. I could not imagine driving it to the shops let alone touring.

But I guess that was after I sat in the RR Sport. Wow. What an absolutely awesome vehicle. Seriously, what an absolutely awesome vehicle. How anyone can suggest that a LC200 is in the same game as this vehicle amazes me. I have no doubt that it is the best 4x4 tourer you could ever hope to own. It is for me anyway.

Drive a Defender for a few hours and we wouldnt be able to pry you out of it, nor the smile off your face I reckon !!!!!

    Go the Deefers !

(Having said that - if I was cashed up a new V8 diesel Vogue would be in the driveway as WELL as a Defender!)

Probably should have mentioned that i am 6'5" and 100kgs! I have no doubt they are the ducks nuts but it is just that the door wacks you on the side as you close it. Wind the window down might solve the problem! Can you remove the doors on a fender????
