    Must have upset Murphy.

Talk about a crazy week. Last week on monday I get a call from my sister to say that she has rolled her car. Thankfully she is alright but thinks here 86 county will be a write off. Swerved to avoid some cattle and lost control. Blknight.aus comments on the scandinavian flick came to mind.

Then on thursday my dad rings up he was in town and a courier van had run into him and tipped his 85' county on it side. Thankfully he was ok as well. This vehicle had only been back in for three weeks, he had driven it through Korea, russia, mongolia and europe without a scratch.

Then on friday afternoon as i am preparing to go and retrieve my sisters car as the insurance company hadn't organise towing because they were two busy with claims from flooding in Emerald. I notice oil on the road under the front of my LR. !!! I have a look and when operated powersteering fluid was shooting out the side of the steering box through what looked like a casting flaw. Luckily my 120 was an early model and runs a V8 powersteering pump and i was able to take the belt off and keep going. It is hard work manoevreing at low speed with no power assistance.

At least these things seem to come in 3's so the retrieval went without a problem. Towing a 2 tonne county on a trailer certianly made the isuzu earn its keep. There was a couple of hills where I was down to 3rd low.

I was quite impressed with the way the flimsy looking roof structure on the county held up in my sisters case to a complete roll over. The steel pillars beside the driver (for the seat belt) stopped the roof from crushing down where her head was.

Well hopefully that got that out of the way for the rest of the year.

Now the hunt is on to find a county to replace dads. If you know of a V8 county (or isuzu) in top nick body wise, we would be interested. Engine optional.

Apologies if any of you got stuck behind me on the highway.

    That is bad luck.
Good to hear your Dad and Sister are okay

That is the most important thing, cars you can replace.

    Cheers,

Agree with thinking of the positives, everyone is OK and you now have two spares vehicles or two project cars.

backing dobbos thinking itd probably parting out the rolled on would probably pay for the repairs to the tipped one and your power steering

    Thankfully everyone is OK.
Shame about the 2 Landys, both will likely end up as write-offs.
See if they can have first dibs on the wrecks, pretty easy to turn both into utes.

    Yes, glad everyones ok...

I've been in a Pathfinder that rolled after a blowout at 120km/h...

Strange, surreal and not particularly fun!
