    Thanks guys for the info.

I also was confused about the "Titan" aspect. Trying to do a search on specs for it and I got no result. Im sure Tirfo dont do chrome plating.

A hand winch suits me. Im not a princess so the hard work dosn't bother me all that much. I do my 4wd'ing alone and I need the versatility that a hand winch gives me. Besides, everyone needs exercise.

looks like the genuine article to me. they have had copies made over the years which, apart from the paint and the quality of some parts, look exactly the same, but only the tirfor is bare metal

The 1600 will get you out of most things and is about 2/3's the weight of the 3200 unit too.

That said I have a Tirfor T516 and wouldn't get rid of it. Can do a lot more than an electric winch (but with more effort).
Yeah - that's what I was thinking - It doesn't look like a real Tirfor - the copies are like Patrols and Cruisers - Toys.

The larger Tirfor winches weight in at about 20kg for the winch and another 20kg for the wire rope.

    And they're big.

    Cheers
