I only catch squid for bait.
Shocking stuff, but the other half loves it so I lose most of my bait tubes.
Hate the crap but get to clean it (mm ink all over your hands, nice) and prepare and cook it. LandyAndy knows I can cook it.

Do they do it in rings or opened tubes? The stuff I really like is tubes sliced open with a cross pattern inscribed into it. Very nice...

Worst was fish & chips in Orient point. Grey fish, grey chips, grey scallops - all indistinguishable from each other in looks, texture and taste.

But it was a bucks night so non of us cared too much
HHmmm salt and pepper squid, best i've had is at Van Van's a Vietnamese restaurant in Abbotsford.

    Talking Fish

Just about any for me. I'm not to keen on some types but I've rarely had a bad fish.

    Lurrrrrrvvvvv my fish.

someone mentioned earlier in the thread that they had eaten Tassie Salmon for dinner.

Mrs used go to the factory outlet in Warrane and by the seconds. MMMMMMMMM Yummmy Atlantic Salmon steaks.

They rekon its brain food, so I'd like to dispel one myth. I eat heaps of fish n I'm no rocket scientist.

Yabbies with home made tartar or home made curry mayo, I like crabs simply with salted vinegar but the missus likes my stir fried crab in garlic black bean chilli sauce or my coconut curry crab best.
Guests usually rave about the chilli crab too but I still love the vinegar one!

I dont mind a bit of Home Brand battered fish done in the microwave !
Comes in a plain yellow box, too.
    Cheers.

PS: I love to eat anything that comes out of the sea, but seeing as how I am the cook these days, I dont bother.
Eat for fuel not pleasure, now.

Mark Yau's in Chinatown, salt and pepper calimari. In the early nineties he stayed open all night to run the gambling den upstairs. The kitchen was the front. Great, cheap, heaps of it.

What happened to all the great gambling den/brothel cover restaurants?

    Cheers

    Fish yummy anyway anytime

    Fish raw Japanese style lovely

Deep fried and battered tempura style

Had some Fish Katsu Japanese bread crumb batter for lunch yummy

Atlantic Salmon crispy pan fried in ginger and garlic or poached or cold in aspic or smoked with scrambled eggs and roe

    Ocean Trout

    Tuna

    Yellow Tail

    Smoked eel

    Smoked fish

Only problem with big ocean fish like Marlin Shark Groper is mecury content accumulated up the food chain.
