Damn that Lara Croft roofrack - it costs so much in fuel I don't use it any more.
I can't beleive no one picked this up... This is one thirsty TD5, i don't think you would even make it between servos unless you had aux tanks or afew 20L jerrys.

Me too, about 22-23mpg normally, best up to 27mpg.
Except that mine is a 39 year old petrol...

    Wow 385k's is nothing.

i average around 530k's in my td5 D90 and i thought that was bad.

i have big micky thompsons and i dont have the lightest of foot.

i have no roof racks yet tho.

How much do roof racks influence fuel economy? would just the normal rino racks have much of an influence on it???

    Cheers

I know we have had this discussion before, but here goes anyway.

I am genuinely interested in some of the information here, but it means nothing to me.

People are telling me how many kilometres they get out of a tank, but that doesn't tell me much.
I don't know how big their tank is.
I know I could do some research and find out what size tank is fitted to different model LRs, but there would still be a problem.
I don't know how many litres are left in their tank when the gauge shows empty and/or they decide it's time to fill up.

Mine holds 60 litres but the figures are done brim to brim so should be 100% accurate

Well I have just learnt something today. (I hope I learn something most days.)

I had just assumed your tank was about 75 litres like mine.

So you're doing a bit better than I thought. That is close to what my 300Tdi gives on a good day.

Mine is certainly out by about that much and the speedo by even more; about 110 indicated for a genuine 100kmh.

I know what you mean, when people tell me how many $$$ to fill their car I don't even bother to finish the conversation anymore...
