    2002-2004 Discovery Diesel info required

    Hello All,
    I am interested in buying a Discovery turbo diesel.
    Could you please give me any information as to what components I should inspect .
    Any problems inherent in this model,
    Fuel consumption,Pricing etc,
    I intend towing a caravan of 1300kgs,Would this vehicle be suitable?

    Hi Peter,

    1300Kg's wont trouble the Disco2 atall.

    TD5 engine is powerful and pretty good on fuel.

    Nice to drive. Later ones have the centre difflock back again.

    ACE makes road holding far better than you would ever imagine!

    Drive train is pretty strong, possible weak point is the double cardan front prop but they dont really fail without warning.

    Make sure they have a full service history if possible. Id say get the latest one you can.

    That's not towing!
    The disco has a 3 ton towing capacity. Your biggest problem with towing something that light is you might forget it's there.
