After reading all the horror stories about TD5 engines, heads/gaskets, bolts that fall out of oil pumps causing $18 to $20 K rebuild bills, oil in ECU's and wiring looms a couple of g's every 2 years what's going on? Am I having a bad dream, I've had landies since 1968 and had plenty of troubles crook gearboxes / axles etc. but these TD5 troubles seem something else again. Have 2000 fender converted to auto, no major dramas so far apart from new injector loom and turbo, waste gate stuck open, sounds a good move to put it up blocks and leave it there before something very serious happens
