Also, another risky admission, I always felt repelled by Kenny Rogers.
    I hated him.
    I hated ALL C&W.
Lately, I listened carefully to Kenny and decided he was one talented Mo Fo.
I also liked a few Johhny Cash tunes.
I know I had good taste when I was younger, so am I losing it or is this getting old gig a development of the senses....in some aspects?
Okay, I still hate all C&W

I found alot of the new young bands are playing rock blues in the style of bands like free and Bad Company, Incabus, Jet, Grinspoon are bands that comes to mind.

I only have 1 vinyl record of Sabbath left Vol 4 and it's a channel 7 record newer release, as with alot of my old records they were either stolen, worn out or lost over the years.

I have now replaced most with CDs.

JJ Cale is cool. But I wondered if this JJJ was JJ.

Alas a post further on enlightened me - Triple J - a radio station.

Sorry, I ceased listening to imbecile disc jockeys many years ago - I listen to the Cricket Test Matches - and revel in the fact that the Great Betrayer, Traitor and Goose has reduced air-time as a result of being the Pakistani Coach - otherwise my radio air-time would have been near zero.

This post may amuse you - however you should read the many posts on this thread before judging. Many contradictions and insights to a person's personality.

Which of course is what music is - both a reflection of a person's current mood and an insight to their deeper personality.

I do listen to the ABC - some good interviews there. As for music - the mood sets the tune - definitely not the person behind the microphone.
Thats why i like triple j, far less dj banter than the commercial stations.
Sport on the radio is akin to watching paint dry- its the 21 century after all not the 1930's.

    Recycled teenager

As a recycled teenager I still like the old rock and roll from the 50/60s along with country old and new, and in general most music I have about 15,000 mixed songs on my ex hard drive and yes I do listen to them at times BUT I cant stand what the young one call music today I have 4 grand kids that use my second computer to down load and I often wounder if they will still be as keen for it when they are my age, ( 60) as my generation is to day for what we grew up with , I look at my son and daughter they are in their late 30's they don't listen to a lot of their child hood music, they want to burn alot of my middle off the road and rock & roll my son even slowly showing a liking for some country.
A word of caution, If you are thinking of becomeing a recycled teenage be sure to keep your ambitions and capabilitys segregated and never let your hormones come into play at the same time .

I have only ever bought about 3 records in my life, years ago.
I like to listen to classical tenors, like Pavaroti etc, on TV occasionally.
I dont ever listen to radio, we have a wireless somewhere in the house
but I dont know if it still works.
The radio's in all my cars and trucks, now and in the past have never been switched on.
I wont ride in a vehicle if the driver has to have the radio on all the time,
all of that drivel and noise infuriates me.
When I worked in the big smoke, we went to live theatre and the balet
    regularly, loved it.

    I wont watch american shows.
I watch ABC and SBS and will only watch commercial for some sport like
    cricket or a bike race.
When my wife watches her programs I go off and read or spend time in my
    computer room.
    I dont socialise.
When I die, I want to come back a 100 odd year ago and be a Drover
    in the top end !
You would not want to know me.
