I can't recommend an alarm, but given the area, you could try parking with the transfercase in neutral or low range, and even wire a switch into the engine cut off wire at the back of the fuel pump.
I realise the main risk is breaking in & stealing, but I had a SIII stolen in Doncaster a few years ago! It was the first one the insurance assessor had ever seen stolen!
I had an aftermarket alarm with a movement sensor and central locking put in the RRC a few years ago, but on the Defender I'd avoid the central locking as it can be problematic.

were notified. I am guessing that the druggies were after the UHF, IPFs or they thought I was dumb enough to leave the satnav in.
