what exactly is your bitch?

Well my last landrover purchase - top radiator hose for the Freelander.

$150 + shipping from British 4wd
$130 + shipping from 4WDs in Melbourne
$103 in total from the local stealer.

So - just goes to show that you can risk not taking the franger with you.

not that i care, but although it was between 47 and 27 bucks cheaper locally for you, how much time did you lose in getting it locally?
ie: would it have been cheaper to have it direct shipped to your address than messing around going out and getting it?
and b92 etc, what is the answer?

I set out to purchase a specific kit with a designated part number but was told that that wasn't possible and every single little bit (ie o rings etc) was sold separately to me at exorbitant cost - eg, ONE o ring cost $5.85.

And Repco, Bursons, Autobahn and Supercheap were just around the corner...?????.......$5.85 would of bought a bag of 10

The simple answer is no - 25c to ring the stealer - the next day he rang me to say it was in and then about $2 to drive 4km to the stealer and 4km back to pick it up. If it were shipped from the other suppliers - I would have the same fuel cost to drive to the post office or courier depot to pick up because I would not have been home when it would have been delivered.

The other advantage was that the stealer carries current stock - much to my surprise Landrover have got rid of the rediculous vulcanised junctions (the bit that had failed) in their radiator pipes and now have proper metal T pieces with real clamps. The ones from the aftermarket suppliers were all earlier stock.

There is another thread that also reflects that on occasion the stealer can surprise with pricing.
