What? No right of appeal?
The car park nazis have one again been round a deemed a spare tyre at the back of my parking bay to be a "fire hazard" and I've been given two weeks to move it.
It is a Goodyear Wrangler S4 and is in pretty good nick - it'll do fine as a spare I suppose. I don't need it and it'll only get chucked otherwise.
Since it has sat there for the last year or so not spontaneously combusting I am quite happy that it is safe to take if you want it.

You can apply for permission to store stuff and to be honest I think they are being petty this time - last month when they did the check it was fine, this month it isn't. I can't see why a tyre stored in a parking space is a fire hazard while tyres on a car are not.
To apply for permission you have to write to the "committee" (who are a bunch of busybodies with nothing better to do than make sure the car park looks neat and tidy) who then ask the strata management (who are about as much use as a chocolate teapot) so it really isn't worth the bother.
Besides, it has been sat there for about a year with no use so it's no great loss - if I really wanted to keep it I'll just keep it somewhere in my unit.

But they don't look inside the units - they're more concerened with keeping the car park aesthetically pleasing.
Another daft thing was that I had an EMPTY 22litre petrol can at the back of my parking space which I was told to remove as it was a fire hazard (this is more understandable than a car tyre) so, in order to comply I simply keep the empty petrol can inside my can on top of the shelf over the LPG tank. It can be seen clearly throught the rear window by the car park Nazis and so far I've had no more requests to remove it.
The thing that bugs me most of all is that you don't get any kind of letter or note posted to you asking stuff to be removed - they put the note on the stuff they want removing so if you don't have a car and rarely go to the car park you might never know that there is a problem and by the time you find out it'll be too late.
Last time they had a blitz in the car park a couple of people had surf boards / body boards thrown out because they didn't know there was a problem.![]()
