The 19mm inside diameter outlet hose is connected to the inlet of the turbo compressor. I didn't measure the drain hose (looks to be about 12mm), that connects to the crankcase below the lift pump and above the sump.

The connection to the rocker cover is shown in the 2nd pic.

To replace the existing cyclone on a 300Tdi with a Provent, would entail making a fitting to suit the rocker cover.

IMHO the testing that we are doing for Ben would be compromised if the Provent was installed after the existing cyclone separator. Ben might like to comment.
I suppose one could make up a plate for the rocker cover with flange on it for the pipe. If someone made a few of these, I would be happy to buy one unless unreasonably expensive.

The only thing, Ben will know/clarify, is that I suspect the gasses escaping the rocker cover will be bloody oily. Maybe the two stages will help preserve the Provent element?

    Thanks John.

I am happy for you to fit the provent WITH or WITHOUT the factory cyclone. However please NOTE IT DOWN on the data sheet you send back (with/without).

The provent does the same job as the cyclone, only better, so it would be best to remove the cyclone, however, if it is easier to keep it in situ...

Dave/Blknight has offered to do an install and writeup on a 300Tdi - but he needs a vehicle - so someone near him may want to ask him about free fitting...

Thanks for the prompt postage guys:
So far I have sent out provents to:
    Redback
    CHT
    Bush65
    Blknight
    Rick130

Remember - those who get in early get a replacement filter element, so no need to buy one when you send the test element back.

Anyone who wants to keep recording data, and send me the second element back when you replace it, is welcome to!

Also - anyone who does oil analysis - I would appreciate a copy of the test results appropriate to the provent test interval.

As above - the provent can cope with anything the engine can dish out. Without the cyclone would give us better data (or half the 300Tdi owners with and half without), however I am happy either way.

If there is anyone around my area that wants to save on some postage, I have a big Ex post bag Im sending over so Ben should be able to fit a couple in it and you could pick it up from me.

Let me know ASAP, I will send it off tomorrow Ben (If mrs mc remembers the post pack and the form home for me).

Im looking forward to this one and I will put it on straight away, everything else can go on the back burner

Edit : Scratch that, she bought home the 3kg one rather than the 9kg pillow case one.

    Not to worry
