Thread: 109 series?

Hi all,

I've inherited a Landrover 109 ute, that not so nice baby crap colour!

I'm using around a property it starts ok even after not being touched for 3 or 4 weeks, just had new green slip and the mechanic said the engine's on its last legs, big end bearing about to fall out (not mechanical minded so I don't know what that really means).

I want to keep it in the family so is there a good place to find a recon'd engine?

any suggestions would be great

which engine, if its the petrol rebuild it. you can undersize the big end 3 times according to the manual but there are bearings available for up to 5 time undersize.
