    Going to the races

    We heading to Boorawa for the picnic races this ANZAC weekend with friends, this will be my first one

    Anyone done this or maybe even going to it, the town is chocker already.

    For someone who never bets on horses (not even the Melbourne cup) i'm pretty excited about it, what are they like?

    I'm guessing its a country town type of event?

    get dolled up,, drink heaps,, bet on anything with 4 legs,, (oh,, and its compulsory to have a bet in each race) get sunburnt,, fall asleep on the hill.

    I'm sure you will have a most excelent time, picnics have survived as a favoured recreational activity in the bush whereas B&S balls have been killed by the insurance costs.
    We'd be going but we're off to Warren / Nevertire for the weekend.
