Does anyone own one of those cheap ebay winches?
I was looking at them the other day seem to have all the gear for a very low price.It would be interesting to know how well they peform campared to say a warn winch!

I bought one for pulling in the 16ft fibreglass boat. It worked ok however it wasn't very quick and I ended up fitting drive on rollers and selling the winch.
Probably means I wouldn't recommend them. I suspect you get what you pay for.

i think you can get faulty products no matter what you buy, its just that some products have alot less.
A mate of mine has a 12000lb cheapy and its been great, its sounding sick now but thats from over 3yrs of faultless service and not one bit of maintenance.
I am going to bring in some samples myself from china to test out and if they seem ok for the money i am going to bring more in and sell them on my site.
Both of the places in china i have spoken to offer a full range of spare parts, so they are available. I think its more a case of who you buy them off more than anything. If i start selling them i will honor warranties and then when the period is up offer spare parts. Matt
